Gasthaus Willems in Mainz

We had a lot of fun preparing the 2020 New Year's Eve menu TO GO. 3 x vegetarian 1 x with meat. Everything was super fresh, perfectly coordinated, simply excellent. While eating we had the feeling that you had only cooked for us! Thank you and happy new things to the team!

Upon recommendation, my wife and I went to the Gasthaus Willems for lunch with guests. It should be positively emphasized that the products used mainly come from the region and are also of organic quality. The food was good, at the same time we lacked tasteful accents that we had encountered in restaurants of a similar price range. We found the service to be moderate in this context: We found the fact that we (around 30) and especially our older visit was irritating to inappropriate in the context. In addition, there was a noticeably unpleasant body odor from the waiter. All in all, we think it's a shame that the promising approach is not exhausting its potential.

A delicious restaurant in a nice place with one of the 3 most beautiful church in the Town :) Member of Slow food :) bio carefully chosen products :) Great selection of riesling at very good price: Kuhling-Gillot(biodynamic) and Gunderloch for the historical region Nierstein of Rheinhessen and Wittmann(bio) for the new fashion Wonnegau region of Rheinhessen ! Sadly not a lot of Spatburgander like the delicious wine of A Christmann in Mittelhaardt of Pfalz. A regret, coffee is not at the same level than the food :( why the restaurant doesn't use the bean of the delicious roaster KaffeeKommune in Mainz too ? Wine lovers and people that like good food need absolutely to stop her !

Rarely experienced such a friendly service staff as here in this restaurant very attentively friendly and courteous and the crew from the kitchen did their best.We were absolutely thrilled with the starter, the main course and of course the dessert in this sense we will definitely come back when We in Germany and Mainz are very grateful and respect to the staff at Gasthaus Willems

Small menu with very good food in a cozy seating atmosphere! Recommendable!

Had a very nice evening in the quiet and nice outside area. The service was warm and courteous and the food was simply delicious. The wild herb salad is definitely a must. Gladly again.

Definitely go there. It was delicious. We chose the menu and were not disappointed. The service was very courteous despite the current Covid19 restrictions.

Absolutely exceptional food, the menu was really great the wines are selected and all excellent. I will definitely be happy to come back. Tip: make sure to reserve a table in the cold season because the dining room is rather small, in summer you can also sit outside.

I would give these guys 0 stars if possible. The second time they've taken a reservation from us and not upheld it! Not only did they ask is to wait, 30 minutes later they turned us away! It is just absolutely unacceptable to take down reservations and never actually hold on to the table.

Very tasty and varied food. You can eat here with a clear conscience, as the products are organic and regional. Pleasant atmosphere and cozy furnishings. Suitable for various occasions. Whether for a wine or for a birthday a course menu, you will always find something delicious. I would love to go back.

Super delicious food, nice wine list and a really brisk service that was friendly and unobtrusive. The prices are higher, but in my opinion completely reasonable for the quality. We will definitely be back and had a really good time.

Very good food in a cozy atmosphere. Service very attentive and unobtrusive. High price segment. Negative point: When we wanted to pay, we were told that the table was occupied again. After all, this is not a fast food restaurant ?!

The Willems has convinced me by the very special offer of food and drinks and their quality. I really have nothing to complain about. Highly recommended!

The food and wines were delicious, the service very good. The menu is not extensive, but there should be something for everyone. Vegan / vegetarian dishes are also available. The prices are very high. For two we spent 100 € for three courses including drinks.

Ambience quaint, prices and food lifted. Good wines. We were eight in the basement. Service 1A. Gladly again.
